IT'S THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH!!!

My first whole month away from home :)) and it's an odd thing to be excited about but i can't wait to see how august rolls around on tumblr :D

Got a feeling early August is gonna be good. Not just the one-week break, but R says we Singaporean houseys should do something special for national day :B LAKSA AND LIVESTREAMMMMMMMM i hope we can?? NDPs are always a bit of a pain to watch cos they have such corny segments, but i still feel like it's a must-do thing and i love the fireworks and old-school songs :')

I know i keep going on about how i can't say i love my country but i can still be proud of and miss it right!!

Can't really be bothered to scrape through the June and early july folders so i'm starting from July 16 :X in time, one day, soon, whichever floats your boat ~

So... I finally figured out how to operate the oven.

But seriously i spent almost two hours googling the oven brand, and then locating the mains, after fiddling with the knobs?!

And then i discover the on-off switch is right next to the oven itself................. :|

I deserve an award for either perseverance or for obliviousness hahaha.

Baked potato wedges with thyme and herb-buttered corn-on-the-cob :D

Even invented my own herb butter :)) I LOVE BUTTER but i always die a little inside when i eat something buttery. But i guess, once in a while is okay ...?

Lazy day today D: woke up late and didn't feel like doing anything productive
but
a woman's gotta eat.

So guess what's sitting pretty in the oven (haha since i found the damn switch)??

Funny groove in the thigh cos i couldn't help tearing little strips off while it was cooling hehe.

Original recipe here, bit of give-and-take and lots of finger-crossing.

Something about food that makes it infinitely better when it's your own effort. I love it, I'm finally beginning to understand why some people love cooking for others :)))

Anyway while the chicky was baking,

Ingredients for homemade chicken noodle soup!

Cheated and used campbell stock hahaha. Mad salty, by the way, learnt my lesson the first time i used it and diluted it with equal parts water. Doesn't really matter, imo you can never have too much soup ;D

AND THAT ONION ;__; wahh really made me cry.

I love italian herbs, the rosemary permeated the entire house ♥

Not a very flattering shot, but honestly one of the most satisfying dinners of my life :}

Hehe token blossom shot :D

They started blossoming about mid-july, mid-winter omg. I still find them so pretty!! and it's quite sad that there aren't any cherry blossoms around wellington :(

Super can't wait for spring to come!!!! JUST ONE MORE MONTH *_* don't know if it's psychological or what but i feel the weather has been really good the past couple days, warmmmm. Love it when the air's cold but the sun's out :D

IT'S MOVING DAY TODAY!!!!
and i only had three hours to pack my things D:

Ended up finishing in just under one and a half. Means i had time to squeeze in a bit of congratulatory lunch and tumblr (yay!) before M came in a company van to help us move.

Anyway australian sun makes plenty of photographs look amazing. Partly cos it's mad fierce (that's why there're shades for that 8D) but i think it gives a different feel from singaporean sun.

Spent close to four hours unpacking and zhng-ing (AHAHA MY PET WORD), and my only peeve is that it's a weird shape, honestly. So much dysfunctional space, tsk.

I think it's the quilt cover and pillowcases?? that makes it look so regal. And check out mah teal towel, 14.95 from Overstocks Overruns, they had a deep wine red (also 14.95) shucks should've gotten it when i was in the city >:|

Went down to Chaddy after school again :)) it feels like i'm falling into a routine... planning t head down on eightaugust, which is also monday! Too bad nineaugust is a tuesday, ruin plans only.

I admit I have a slight fetish for candles *__* could spend forever in that shop but the things in there are really quite expensive... still, i always believe you pay more for quality :D

Got a 50-pack of scented tealights!!! FINALLY ✌ and, naturally, a couple of tealight holders. Originally only wanted the crystal lily cos it was on clearance and so pretty, but i couldn't resist the mosaic collection either. /sheepish
